PortalPark Community Guidelines

Last updated on

PortalPark is a 3DGS content community owned and operated by XGRIDS and its affiliates. In these Guidelines, “PortalPark,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the PortalPark community and platform. PortalPark brings together spatial-content enthusiasts, creators, and professionals to discover inspiring places, share 3DGS works, tell stories, exchange creative techniques, and explore new ways of experiencing the real world in 3D.

These Community Guidelines apply to all PortalPark users (“users” or “you”). By registering an account or uploading, sharing, publishing, commenting on, or otherwise making available any 3DGS scene, 3D model, image, video, text, tutorial, location information, or other material (collectively, “User Content”), you agree to comply with these Guidelines. These Guidelines form part of the PortalPark Terms of Service (collectively, the “Terms”). Capitalized terms not defined here have the meanings given in the Terms of Service.

1. Content We Encourage

PortalPark encourages users to share:

  1. Original, high-quality 3DGS scenes and other spatial works captured or created with supported devices or compatible tools;
  2. Creative stories, virtual tours, cultural and natural spaces, digital environments, and other meaningful spatial experiences; and
  3. Tutorials, capture techniques, production workflows, product experiences, and constructive discussions related to 3DGS and spatial content creation.

Additional format, quality, featuring, and submission requirements may be provided in additional agreements, documents, or rules established by us may separately apply to the relevant User Content and may require users to acknowledge, check, or agree to them.

2. Content That Is Not Allowed

You acknowledge and agree that all User Content you upload, share, or publish must be original or properly authorized. User Content must not contain, depict, disclose, or involve:

  1. Absolute geographic coordinates or recoverable location data. This includes GNSS/RTK coordinates, georeferenced point clouds, camera trajectories, location anchors, metadata, or visual information that could be used to determine or reconstruct a real-world absolute location, including recognizable road or street signs.
  2. Unauthorized scans or personal information. This includes 3D scans or point clouds of real people or faces captured or published without the person’s consent, whether the person is a member of the public or a public figure; AI-generated depth portraits or synthetic 3D likenesses of real people; and unauthorized information that can directly or indirectly identify a person, including names, identity-document numbers, phone numbers, email addresses, home addresses, account identifiers, IP addresses, payment information, faces, bodies, homes, and vehicle license plates.
  3. Sexual, violent, hateful, terrorist, or national-security-related content. This includes pornography, sexual exploitation, child sexual abuse material, graphic or glorified violence, hate or discriminatory content, terrorism, violent extremism, or content that endangers national security or public safety.
  4. Military, government, border, defense, or other classified locations and datasets. This includes military bases, defense facilities, restricted political party, government, law-enforcement, or military premises, border lines and border-control areas, battlefields or conflict zones, classified buildings, and high-precision, real-world, city-scale scanned 3D geographic datasets.
  5. Confidential or protected data. This includes critical-infrastructure data, government secrets, trade secrets, confidential technical information, restricted security layouts, access routes, control systems, or other information whose disclosure is prohibited or may create a material security risk.
  6. Critical or high-risk facilities. This includes power plants, substations, water-treatment or water-supply facilities, energy facilities, airports, ports, railway hubs, major highway facilities, communications facilities, data centers, nuclear facilities, hazardous-chemical production or storage facilities, major water infrastructure, and comparable sensitive infrastructure.
  7. Sensitive building interiors. This includes detailed interior models, scans, layouts, or operational information relating to factory production lines, data-center equipment rooms, laboratories, control rooms, secure storage areas, or other restricted operational spaces.
  8. Content that may infringe well-known intellectual property. This includes unauthorized scans, reproductions, adaptations, or distributions of recognizable copyrighted characters, artworks, sculptures, branded environments, film or game assets, product designs, trademarks, or other protected third-party materials.
  9. Scenes located in drone no-fly or restricted-flight areas, including:
    • airports and surrounding airspace, including civil airports, military airfields, and heliports;
    • military facilities, including military bases, military-controlled areas, radar stations, and command facilities;
    • core government and important public facilities, including key government institutions, police facilities, prisons, and border checkpoints;
    • nuclear and hazardous facilities, including nuclear power plants, nuclear facilities, hazardous-chemical sites, and major energy facilities;
    • critical infrastructure, including power plants, substations, ports, railway hubs, major highways, water infrastructure, and communications facilities;
    • navigation and communications facilities, including satellite-control stations, navigation beacons, aviation radio-navigation stations, radar stations, and radio-astronomy observatories; and
    • temporary no-fly or restricted areas established for major events, disaster response, significant security incidents, or temporary government controls.
  10. Any other content that violates applicable laws, regulations, or international treaties, infringes upon the lawful rights or interests of others, or is otherwise contrary to public order, public morality, or generally accepted standards of conduct.

The above restrictions apply regardless of the device or method used to capture the scene. Removing coordinates, metadata, names, or labels does not make otherwise prohibited content acceptable if a person, property, sensitive facility, or real-world location can still be identified or reconstructed from visual, geometric, environmental, or contextual information. If you are unsure whether you have the right to capture or publish a scene, do not upload it.

3. Content Review and Publication

All models uploaded to PortalPark will be publicly visible on the PortalPark website immediately after submission, and administrators will conduct reviews of the models.

Review times may vary depending on the type and complexity of the content, the volume of submissions, identified risk factors, the completeness of any required authorization, and whether additional verification is needed. PortalPark does not guarantee that review will be completed within a fixed period.

PortalPark may use automated systems, metadata analysis, geographic-risk screening, and other tools to support post‑submission review. PortalPark may reject, restrict, hide, disable sharing of, or remove User Content that violates or may violate the Terms. Passing review does not constitute endorsement or permanent approval. PortalPark may conduct a further review or take action if it receives a complaint, legal request, safety report, or new information.

4. Account Enforcement

If you upload prohibited or otherwise non-compliant content, the content will not be displayed on PortalPark and your account may be restricted, suspended, or terminated. Repeated violations, serious violations, fraudulent conduct, or attempts to evade review or enforcement may result in immediate or permanent account suspension without prior notice, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

Where available, you may report content or appeal an enforcement decision through the reporting or appeal channel provided by PortalPark. PortalPark may request supporting information, proof of authorization, or identity verification where necessary.

5. Comments and Community Interactions

PortalPark may offer comment, discussion, or other community interaction features. When using these features, you must not post, upload, transmit, or otherwise make available any content that:

  • harasses, threatens, bullies, intimidates, or targets any individual or group;
  • contains hate speech or discriminatory content, or incites violence based on race, ethnicity, religion, sex, sexual orientation, disability, nationality, or any other legally protected characteristic;
  • defames, libels, or knowingly makes or disseminates false statements concerning any person or entity;
  • discloses another person’s personal information without authorization, including, without limitation, their name, address, telephone number, email address, or financial information;
  • constitutes spam, unsolicited advertising, chain messages, or repetitive off-topic content;
  • contains malicious links, phishing attempts, malware, or other deceptive, harmful, or potentially security-compromising material;
  • impersonates any person, entity, or PortalPark employee, representative, or other personnel;
  • infringes any third party’s copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights;
  • violates applicable laws, regulations, or international treaties; infringes upon the lawful rights or legitimate interests of any person or entity; or is otherwise contrary to public order, public morals, or generally accepted standards of conduct; or
  • is otherwise unlawful, fraudulent, misleading, or intended to deceive, manipulate, or improperly influence other users.

PortalPark reserves the right to remove or restrict any comment, content, or other interaction that violates these Guidelines and, depending on the nature and severity of the violation, to restrict, suspend, or terminate an account’s access to relevant features or services in cases of repeated or serious violations.

6. User Responsibility and Disclaimer

You are solely responsible for your User Content and for obtaining all permissions necessary to capture, upload, publish, share, license, or otherwise use it. Authorization to enter a property does not necessarily include authorization to scan it, reproduce it digitally, disclose its layout, publish it, or permit others to download or reuse it.

To the extent permitted by law, you assume the risks associated with your User Content. User Content reflects the views and opinions of individual users and does not represent any view, position, promise, or endorsement of PortalPark. PortalPark does not guarantee the completeness, accuracy, legality, safety, or reliability of User Content and does not undertake a general obligation to monitor or editorially control all User Content.
